Untill yesterday, I was more or less happy about the Danish Healthcare system...
Sure we do pay lots and lots of taxes and we do work hard to make the system flow...
...But yesterday, something made me realize that Denmark is not as flawless as it seemed to me.

A month ago my grandmother got very ill, having the worst stomach pains. Ofc she got checked at the doctor and he told her it was a minor issue - she found out herself, that her stomach hurts if she eats the wrong kind of food and he gave her some pills she could take - if the pain was too big. Now, her doctor told her, that she could get a checkup at the hospital with one of those binocular things, but he wouldn't advice it. She is 93years old, but also a strong woman, so she choose to get a checkup.

The doctor made a big fat whole in her gullet/throat and now she is very very ill. The doctors treated her even worse and as an side effect she got water in her lungs aswell. In Denmark we don't (and more or less can't) sue doctors for doing such a failure, right now that seems stupid to me...

My mother was at the hospital yesterday (what a week I know..) with her hip, she can't sit down proper and she's taking some pretty strong medicine, which doesn't have a big effect either. Our doctor told us, it was pretty bad and she had to stay some days at the hospital - therefore my mother and father went. They waited almost 6hours to see a doctor there and while waiting they were treated as dirt by the nurses.

My mother told me today (She got send home with some pills, waiting in line to a scan) that she'd met a young man and his dad at the hospital aswell, they waited longer than my mother. The man didn't talk danish, but his son did and he asked a nurse when they could get some help, she replied: "Go home to your asylum camps, you have a doctor there aswell...." The boy told her that it was urgent and that they didn't have that kind of help at the camp (for immigrates)..... I could have killed that nurse...

My mother told me that they were 17 people waiting for between 2-7hours - some of them were small kids crying. It's not Danish Healthcare anymore, it's Danish-shit-care... Don't go to a doctor, because you wont get help here - don't flee to Denmark because most Danes will treat you like dirt...

I'm ashamed of my country - it looks more and more like the worst part of America to me.
